Hand-built and painted using the Mishima technique, this tray has powerful daily reminders and was topped off using white gold luster. The inside reads "Don't just reach for the stars... be one!". The bottom says, "Only in the darkness can you see the stars." The sides are painted with one of my favorite glaze combinations that just screams "galaxy!"

Mishima is a technique where you cover the entire greenware piece (not yet been fired) with wax resist. You then carve out your design and cover with underglaze, so that the color is filled into the grooves. Once it's been bisque fired (the first of 2 firings), I add the color, cover with clear glaze and then fire again.
