Thrown on the wheel, I created this mug shortly after a visit to Spain where I fell in love with mosaics all over again. This mug was completely inspired by the colors and feels of Antoni Gaudi, a famous Catalan architect and designer. Some of the most famous buildings in Barcelona would designed and built by Gaudi.
The design surrounding "Inspire" on the mug comes directly from the buildings at Gaudi's famous Park Guell. The backside of the mug is adorned with one of his quotes "Tomorrow we will do very beautiful things." The mosaic motifs continue on the handle and even the bottom of the mug.
The clay is a fun brown speckled clay that shows little specks throughout after it's been fired.
